A review of the all new 2013 Honda Accord

After months of rumours about all new 2013 Honda Accord, the release date of the redesigned midsized car finally been confirmed for this fall. The 2013 Accord maintains the same standards of fuel economy, interior space and class-leading value as previous years’ models. Let’s not also forget the Honda’s reputation for reliability and longevity that has always made the Accord a smart purchase.

Honda has only slightly updated the exterior styling when compared to the outgoing model. What they have done instead is to add a refreshed sculpted look and included a few premium touches. Key design traits are sharper and more focused lines, with the overall design dominated by a bold grille, angular headlights and sweeping character lines running the length of the body.

Honda has also confirmed that the Accord will be powered by a pair of engine choices: a direct-injected 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, which will be matted to a either a six-speed manual or an all-new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The dual overhead cam 2.4-liter four cylinder has been rated at 185 hp and 181 lb-ft. of torque. An updated 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic will be optional for some of the higher-specification trim levels. This engine is rated at 278 hp and 252 lb-ft. of torque and Honda has promised class-leading V6 fuel economy, so look for an improvement over the outgoing model’s 20/30 mpg rating.

On the road, an overall aerodynamic shape combined with low-drag exterior surfaces including nearly flush windshield glass, flush-mounted windshield wipers and careful under-body tailoring promise enhanced fuel efficiency. Premium details like available LED daytime running lights, headlights and taillights hint at the sophisticated technology and luxury available inside.
